How to assemble a lifeguard outfit
Lifeguards are easily spotted because they’re known for their signature outfits. We typically think of the traditional bright red suit with a white cross stitched across the front, but lifeguard outfits can really vary. If you’re trying to put together a lifeguard outfit, look no further. We’ll give you the ins and outs!
First things first
Choose your color! For some of you, your pool or beach facility will have a set color theme for the lifeguard squad. Talk to your manager to find out the exact guidelines. If there are no guidelines, you have a little more leeway. Now, you probably won’t go for a flesh-toned outfit or a hot pink suit — but you can choose between classic lifeguard colors (red, green, blue, and black).
Accessorize
Once you have your main outfit picked out, it’s time to accessorize. It’s like having an entree without the sides! Your accessories can really elevate your overall look. Plus, they allow for a little more creativity with your outfit. Perhaps you’ll add on a lifeguard hat or visor. If you’re looking for something more understated, you can throw on a lifeguard whistle. At eLifeguard, you have lots of options.
Get travel-ready
You’ll need something to hold all of your equipment, which also gives you a chance to add a little more flair to your overall look. Choose a lifeguard bag or hip pack that holds everything you need — and match it to your outfit. Have some fun with it!
